Phyllis Ensher-Peters Biography
a graduate of the harp class of CARLOS SALZEDO at the Curtis Institute of Music, Philadelphia, has been
performing as a professional harp soloist since concluding studies there in 1957. In 1958, she became Principal Solo
Harpist of the following orchestras: Atlantic Symphony, Halifax Symphony, and Nova Scotia Symphony, a position held
for 18 years. During the same period she also served as Staff Artist eith the Canadian Broadcasting Company, performing
regularly on national network television and radio.
Her career has also spanned 10 years in Florida, 1976 to 1986, where sge was a member of two orchestras:
the Florida Symphony Orchestra, Orlando , Florida, and the Brevard Symphony Orchestra, Melbourne, Florida. Additionally,
she was principal harpist of the Savannah Symphony Orchestra, Savannah, Georgia, and principal performer at Walt Disney World
and numerous other entertainment centers in Orlando, Tampa, and St. Petersburg, Florida.
Ms. Ensher-Peters is currently prinicpal harpist of the Binghamton Symphony Orchestra, the Binghamton Pops,
and the Tri-Cities Opera, Binghamton, New York.
Ms. Ensher Peters currently resides in Wyomissing, PA where she gives private lessons in and around the
